Buffa Software is an independent game studio founded in 2019 by Jan "Frix" Šídlo and Adam Hrubý. We are a small team of dedicated game developers and creatives from diverse backgrounds, including programming, 2D and 3D graphics, sound, and music design.
We are currently focused on developing games primarily for PC, and we’re looking forward to and preparing for expansion to console platforms. At the moment, we operate mainly as a group of independent creators with a passion for craft and game development, pushing our design skills as far as possible in order to reach a level that can stand alongside the biggest players in the video game industry.
Situated in the picturesque Czech Republic, near the vibrant capital of Prague, our studio draws inspiration from a region renowned for its rich cultural heritage. This inspires us to create games that are not only entertaining, but also culturally and artistically meaningful.
The Central European region is rich not only in its distinctive style of visual art and animation throughout history, but also in its unique cultural heritage of history, stories, legends, and fairy tales that have emerged from a tradition shaped by many overlapping cultures from antiquity to the present day. We are proud of our cultural heritage and believe that we can share it with the world in a gentle, approachable way through our games, contributing in our own small way to fostering understanding between nations and cultures in today’s challenging and turbulent times.
Our most significant achievement to date is winning the Central European Award CEEGA's Hidden Gem accolade for our game ArtFormer: Ancient Stories.
